Joseph Silver is a scientist in a dream-research facility in the city of Metropolis, who invents a dream-based time machine that allows his astral body to travel back in time and possess his own teenage body. This also gives him special dream-based superpowers, which he uses to become Astralad in order to one up Superboy and Clark Kent.
