The Vrangs
A race of alien conquerors that invaded the planet Krypton and enslaved its population thousands of years in the past. First noticed by Sul-El, who tried to warn his fellow citizens, the Vrang overwhelmed the world and ruled until Val-Lor defied them and inspired a Kryptonian uprising (S No. 176/3, Apr 1965: "Superman's Day of Truth!").
Many years later, the Vrangs discover remnants of Krypton's destruction when they find large pieces of planetary rubble in space (Act No. 548, Oct 1983: "Escape from the Phantom Zone!").
