Professor Zee

An evil scientist who, working with his colleague, Dr. Cardos, inside “a hidden (laboratory) retreat within a semi-extinct volcano somewhere in the mountains of a far-western state,” has performed countless “revolting experiments” in “increasing the size of living organisms” in the hope of creating an army of zombie-like human giants subject entirely to their control. When the awful work is finally completed, a horde of terrible giants, towering above the tallest trees, descends on the western United States, looting and killing, smashing trains and houses, and crushing everything in their path. Professor Zee and Dr. Cardos are ultimately trampled to death by fleeing giants when Superman demolishes their hidden laboratory, and the giants all drown in a massive flood produced by a glacier melted by Superman (S No. 8/1, Jan/Feb 1941).
