A courageous young police officer who resigns from the police force without explanation after losing his nerve in a gun battle in which, although wounded, he nevertheless single-handedly apprehends three gunmen. Fray ultimately recovers his self-confidence thanks to a heroic helping hand from Superman (S No. 37/1, Nov/Dec 1945: "The Dangerous Dream!"). (TGSB)
