A fabulously wealthy billionaire who fancies himself the financial power of the entire planet, Cyrus Brand begins to pay Superman for feats that benefit his economic empire. What Brand does not suspect is that Superman will establish his own bank and compete directly with him. What the Man of Steel's friends don't understand is that Superman is actually looking for the secret behind Brand's wealth, the fact that he is working with a master conterfeiter who is adding bogus bills to Brand's billions. By competing with Brand on business deals, Superman is able to find the source of the counterfeit money and bring Cyrus Brand to justice. The fantastic pile of fake cash is burned with Superman's heat vision with the approval of the Department of the Treasury (Act No. 394, Nov 1970: "Midas of Metropolis!").
