Ace, the Bat-Hound
Ace, the Bat-Hound is a German Shepherd dog adopted by Batman and Robin after a time from his original owner, John Wilker. With a keen sense of smell, tracking ability, and a heroic fighting spirit, Ace is a loyal member of the Dynamic Duo's crime-solving team (Ace's career is first chronicled in Batman No. 92, Jun 1955: "Ace, the Bat-Hound"). The dog wears a black mask to conceal identifying marks on the face and to preserve his "secret identity."
With Batman, Ace, the Bat-Hound interacts with Superman during his adventures as well. (WF No. 134, Jun 1963: "The Band of Super-Villains!" and WF No. 143, Aug 1964: "The Feud Between Batman and Superman!")
