The Unknown Soldier
Bandaged veteran of World War II active as a secret agent at least into the 1980s (first appearance: Star Spangled War Stories No. 151, Jun/Jul 1970: "They Came from Shangri-La"). The Unknown Soldier, in a variety of disguises, aids Superman against a group of rogue United States military officials bent on launching a nuclear war (DCCP No. 42, Feb 1982: "The Specter of War!").
