The Squiffles
Evil little green elf-like creatures whose ruler, Ixnayalpay, makes a secret pact with Adolf Hitler to lead his Squiffles in sabotaging America's aircraft industry in return for demonic possession of Der Fuehrer's body. By pestering U.S. pilots and distracting them from their controls, the Squiffles cause a series of disastrous military aircraft crashes in May-June 1943, but with the aid of the good elves, known as Gremlins, Superman ultimately defeats the Squiffles and prevents them from demolishing an armada of American bombers en Route to aid England.
