Rolf Zimba

The "power-mad individual" who is the head of the Gold Badge Organization, a "secret terrorist organization" determined to "smash the government" and seize control of the United States. In July-August 1941 its members blow up the entire Metropolis suburb of Metrodale in retaliation for the recent arrest of some GBO members there, then extort tribute money from a Metropolis bank president by telling him that his bank will be "levelled to ashes in a few minutes" unless he complies with their demand. Most of the terrorists are ultimately killed or captured in a U.S. Army sweep organized by Superman, and Zimba and his few remaining henchmen perish in the crash of their getaway plane when its controls are damaged during a climactic battle with Superman (S No. 11/1)
