Freddy Shaw
A young Smallville lad who briefly becomes Clark Kent's best friend, but has a brother who is a gangster. Freddy Shaw and Clark become so close that he is entrusted with the secret of Superboy, but unfortunately, Freddy is also afflicted with a terminal brain disease that causes him to cry out when he becomes delirious. In one such instance, Freddy's criminal brother is able to learn Superboy's secret identity. However, before Freddy Shaw dies, Superboy learns that he was not purposely betrayed by his friend and manages to again protect his secret identity with a Superboy Robot (SB No. 77/3, Dec 1959: "Superboy's Best Friend!").
