A ventriloquist at the Gay Metropolis Supper Club whose act, a gentle spoof of Superman, features the engaging Whit Whittle, "secretly" Super Puppet, a ventriloquist’s dummy that flies through the air by means of a tiny propeller and performs crowd-pleasing "X-ray vision" tricks through an elaborate technique involving use of a club waiter as a secret accomplice. When two Metropolis gangsters—Barney Bates and "Grabby" Todd—steal Berg’s dummy in the moronic belief that they can use its supposed "X-ray vision" for crime, Superman apprehends them both and reunites dummy Whittle with ventriloquist Berg (S No. 109/2, Nov 1956: "The Puppet with X-Ray Eyes").
