John Vinden

A "brilliant criminal scientist," just released from prison after serving a five-year term, who uses his "warped scientifc genius" to endow four ordinary criminals with "artificial super-powers" similar to Superman's as part of his cunning scheme to defeat Superman and "loot the scientific world of Metropolis" in order to avenge himself on the city's scientific comunity, whom Vinden holds responsible for having sent him to prison. Vinden and his henchmen are apprehended by Superman in December 1952 (Act No. 175: "5 Against Superman!").
