A Metropolis gangster, described in the texts as “one of the biggest mob leaders in the country”—who is “the treasurer of the crime syndicate” and, as such, “the head of gangland’s secret Fort Knox,” a secret underworld treasure vault, situated beneath an abandoned observatory somewhere “in a remote mountain area,” which serves as gangland’s repository for its stolen artwork, jewelry, and currency. By means of an elaborate ruse, Superman finally locates “the outlaw Fort Knox” and apprehends Corey and his cohorts in August 1965 (S No. 179/1: “The Outlaw Fort Knox!”). (TGSB)
