The Squire

The young Englishman who is the crime-fighting companion and sidekick of the Knight (first appearance: Batman No. 62, Dec 1950/Jan 1951: "The Batman of England!"). The Knight is in reality Earl of Wordenshire and the Squire is his young son Cyril.

In July-August 1957, the Knight and the Squire visit the United States in response to a summons from "well-known philanthropist" John Mayhew, who wishes to award the Knight and the Squire and other world-famous crime-fighters, including Batman and Robin, Superman, the Gaucho, the Legionary, and the Musketeer—charter membership in his newly formed Club of Heroes (WF No. 89: "The Club of Heroes!").
