GAMBLING

The practice of playing games and wagering money or other stakes on their outcome. Superman has described gambling as “a parasitic vice that has no place in a decent town” (Act No. 16, Sep 1939), and Action Comics No. 32 observes that “Of all evils, gambling is one of the most vicious, it’s [sic] toll of human suffering is almost beyond belief!” (Jan 1942) (TGSB).
