Hal Colby

An “embittered” ex-convict, sent to prison “years ago” by the teen-aged Superman, who poses as a TV producer under the alias Bert Hutton as part of an elaborate scheme to unravel and expose the secret of Superman’s identity, both to wreak vengeance on Superman for his previous incarceration and to collect the $1,000,000 reward being offered him for the secret by “the leaders of the nation’s crime syndicate.” Colby’s scheme is thwarted by Superman in May 1962 (Act No. 288: “The Man Who Exposed Superman!”).
