DNA Project (Project Cadmus)
A highly technical secret research project involving the manipulation of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). The offspring of the original Newsboy Legion are connected with the DNA project, and among many shocking experiments, the project is responsible for the cloning of the original Guardian, Jim Harper, as the Golden Guardian. The Newsboy Legion and the Golden Guardian share many adventures with Jimmy Olsen as well as the weird creations of the DNA project, and are intwined in the doings of Intergang and Darkseid (early appearances include SPJO No. 133, Oct 1970: "Jimmy Olsen, Superman's 'Ex' Pal...Brings Back the Newsboy Legion!"; SPJO No. 135, Jan 1971: "The Evil Factory!").
