The evil counterpart to Superman from Earth-3. Earth-3 is one of the many Parallel-Worlds that Superman has encountered in his many adventures. On Earth-3, Jur-Ul sent his son from the planet Krypton (which in this universe did not explode) to Earth. There under exposure from kryptonite (the source of this Green-K is unknown, since Krypton did not explode), he gained extraordinary powers and became the villian Ultraman. Ultraman gains a new super power with each exposure. He became part of the super villain group called the Crime Syndicate of America.

His first appearance in a canonical book was in DC Comics Presents Annual No. 1 (1982) in a story entitled "Crisis on Three Earths!".

There is now, in present continuity, another Ultraman on the AntiMatter Universe version of Earth. His origin is somewhat different. When human astronaut Clark Kent was on a space mission his ship was set off course and was lost. It was ultimately found by Kryptonians who re-engineered his badly injured body using their advanced Kryptonian technology. The new re-engineered Clark Kent was then returned to Anti-Earth. Once there he discovered that when he was exposed to Kryptonite he gained superpowers that resembled those of Superman. He also became more powerful with each exposure to Kryptonite. He ultimately became known as the super villain Ultraman. He also was part of the super villain group called the Crime Syndicate of Amerika.
