The Kryptonian scientist who is the husband of Allura, and father of Kara Zor-L, aka Power Girl of Earth-2. Since Superman of Earth-2's father, Jor-L, was Zor-L's brother, Zor-L is therefore Superman's uncle. Both he and his wife were killed when Krypton-2 was destroyed.

-When Krypton exploded, as Jor-L had predicted it would, Zor-L and  his wife, [[Allura of Krypton-2|Allura]], placed their infant daughter inside a small rocket ship and launched her toward Earth.  (This rocket, however, was a slower moving prototype equipped with an untested hibernation system that aged the infant Kara at a much slower rate and implanted a full education into her as she slept.  As a result, after her ship crashed on Earth, she awoke being able to read, speak, and understand the English language and had only physically aged even approximately 20 years.)  She was found by Superman upon her arrival, acquired super-powers identical to his, and later achieved worldwide reknown as Power Girl.
