Jim Baldwin
An unscrupulous promoter who cheated young inventor Chet Farnsworth out of the rights to Farnsworth's revolutionary new fire-extinguishing powder and then hired some hoodlums to kill Farnsworth to prevent the young inventor from disputing his own claim to the invention. Superman thwarted the various attempts on Farnsworth's life, forced Baldwin to relinquish the rights to Farnsworth's invention, and then bluntly warned the evil promoter that "...if you try to harm Chet [Farnsworth] again, I'll attend to you without mercy!"
