When Superman is miraculously spilt into two virtually identical Supermen by an awesome new explosive force of a powerful Q-Bomb, a "New government weaponâ€, with the explosive power of 100 hydrogen bombs, the two Supermen are called Superman-T and Superman-X. The Supermen work together as a super-heroic team until Superman-T sacrifices his life to save the other Superman from the effects of a gigantic Kryptonite meteor hurtling toward Earth. Upon Superman-T’s death, Superman-X regains all his former powers. (Act No. 222, Nov 1956: "The Duplicate Superman!").
