Karl "Big Daddy" Lukas is a notorious leader of a Mafia family that Superman and Batman try to infiltrate. During the capture of Lukas, Batman suffers an accidental head wound that makes him believe he is actually a gangster. After Superman (pretending to be a criminal) and Batman corner Robin and Jimmy Olsen and threaten to kill them, Batman's memory returns as Superman anticipates, and Lukas is captured along with valuable evidence against other members of the mob (WF No. 194, Jun 1970: "Inside the Mafia Gang!"; WF No. 195, Aug 1970: "Dig Now, Die Later!").
