Zkor
A type of super-powered alien animal that vaguely resembles a cross between a mythical dragon and a dog. Superboy frees a trapped Zkor in space and it follows him home to Smallville. The Zkor immediately competes with a jealous Krypto on missions to help Superboy, and because it possesses many additional abilities (including instant transportation and the power to generate invincible force-fields), it is in many ways superior.
Seeing and emphathizing with Krypto's sadness at being outclassed, the Zkor fakes a fatal weakness to the rainfall of Earth and leaves to seek another owner somewhere in the galaxy (SB No. 148/2, Jun 1968: "The Canine That Outclassed Krypto").
