The Batman (of Earth-2)
The counterpart of Batman on the parallel world of Earth-2 (first appearance: Detective Comics No. 347, Jan 1966: "The Strange Death of Batman"; See note below). In 1955, the Earth-2 Batman marries Catwoman and goes into semi-retirement. This version of the Caped Crusader is a close friend of the Superman of Earth-2 and a member of the Justice Society of America (SF No. 211/2, Oct 1981: "The Kill Kent Contract!"; and others).
Note: Although many sources cite Detective Comics No. 27, May 1939: "The Case of the Chemical Syndicate" as the first appearance of the Earth-2 Batman, the Golden Age Batman who debuted in that story is not precisely the same character as the Batman of Earth-2.
