A U.S. Army private who recklessly violates both army safety regulations and common sense in his almost suicidal pursuit of one-man heroics during a series of U.S. Army war games being supervised by Superman. These ill-conceived acts of daring, necessitating repeated rescues by Superman, are in reality Carson's way of making up for the alleged cowardice of his brother, Pvt. Jim Carson, who was a soldier at this same army base one year ago. An investigation by Superman, however, soon establishes that Jim Carson was not a coward, thus persuading Fred Carson that his reckless heroics are completely unnecessary (Act No. 205, Jun 1955: "Sergeant Superman").
