A smooth-talking bogus French count, in reality a crafty ex-convict named Ricky Hanlon, who attempts to charm wealthy department store heiress Patricia Randall into marriage and, when that fails, to have her murdered and replaced by an impostor so that he can seize control of her wealth and her business holdings.
