After Kara Zor-El (Supergirl)'s arrival on earth, she lived at Midvale Orphanage in her earthly guise of Linda Lee. It was here she met fellow orphan and sometime boyfirned, Dick Malverne (nee Wilson).
In order to cover up Linda's absence at the orphanage while Supergirl pinch hit for Superman, Kara would command her Linda Lee robot (built by Superman) to double for her.
