A junk shop owner, Gimpy buys stolen goods from under-aged petty burglars. When he is visited by the friends of [[Frankie Marello]] after he was just sentenced to two years in the boys' reformatory, he promises to give them good money after they bring him back stolen goods from some rich houses. After they go, he calls in the police on them. [[Superman]] overhears him and tells him to leave town. The [[Man of Steel]] then goes and catches the boys, protects them from the police and returns the stolen items. While [[Superman]] was talking to them and explaining how they were turned in, Gimpy appears and tries to shoot the boys down with a rifle. Racing the bullet and beating it to it's target [[Superman]] stands in front of it and lets it bounce of his impenetrable skin.  He then catapults the shooter into the river. (Act No. 8, Jan 1939)
