Slash Sabre

A “psychopathic killer” who, having escaped from Metropolis Prison by crawling to freedom through a forgotten storm drain, sneaks aboard Zigi and Zagi's spacecraft to take a rest, believing the craft to be nothing more than a colorful playground fixture or a movie prop. When Zigi and Zagi board the spacecraft a short while later and pilot it to their home planet “in the Alpha Centauri system” (Act No. 315, Aug 1964: “The Juvenile Delinquents from Space!”), Sabre is knocked unconscious by the force of the landing and taken captive by the two young space travelers. Sometime later, however, the “maniacal murderer” escapes and, while wandering aimlessly about the alien planet, very nearly causes a planetary cataclysm when his unwitting tampering with a device called a “gravity master” wrenches a gigantic asteroid loose from its orbit and sends it hurtling toward Zigi and Zagi’s home planet. Superman arrives on the scene in time to avert the catastrophe, however, and Sabre is reprehended by Zigi and Zagi and whisked back to Metropolis Prison inside an alien “teleport bubble” (Act No. 316, Sep 1964: “Zigi and Zagi’s Trap for Superman!”).
