Marla Latham
The Senior Advisor to the Legion of Super-Heroes.
Superboy first meets Marla Latham when he accompanies Ultra Boy to 20th-Century Smallville as "an official observer." It is Latham's task to observe Ultra-Boy's initiation into the Legion.
Masquerading as Ben Crane and Gary Crane, Marla and Ultra Boy pose as recent arrivals to Smallville in order to learn Superboy's secret identity, knowledge of which will guarantee Ultra Boy Legion membership. With their mission accomplished , and their identities exposed to Superboy and Pete Ross, Marla and Ultra Boy return to the 30th Century. As a parting gift, and as a reward for his loyalty to Superboy, Marla gives Pete Ross a coin that "will serve as a pass to the super-heroes Clubhouse whenever the Legion meets" (SB No. 98/3, Jul 1962: "The Boy with Ultra-Powers!").
