A pseudonym employed by Superman after exposure to Red Kryptonite has temporarily robbed him of his superpowers and afflicted him with total amnesia, even to the point of being unable to remember his own identity. The name Jim White represents the unconscious coupling by Superman of the first name and surname, respectively, of two of his closest friends: Jimmy Olsen and Perry White (S No. 165/2, Nov 1963: "The Sweetheart Superman Forgot!"; S No. 169/2, May 1964: "The Man Who Stole Superman's Secret Life!").
