Sir Gauntlet
A mysterious villain, clad in a suit of armor like that of a medieval knight, who masterminds a series of thefts from the stock of Lacey's Department Store until he and his henchmen are finally apprehended by Superman. Sir Gauntlet is really Casper Smythe, a meek Lacey's employee--and a one time partner of the store's owner, until he was caught in the act of stealing company funds many years ago--who confesses that he looted Lacey's of its merchandise because "I felt part of the store still belonged to me--and I took what I considered mine...!"
