Henry Bergh 1811-1888
The founder in 1866, of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, the first organization of its kind in the United States. Superman meets Henry Bergh during a time-journey to the year 1866 (S No. 176 Apr 1965 "The Revenge of the Super-Pets!")(TGSB).
