Superboy grants Lana the power to become Flying Girl

Flying Girl

One of many brief aliases that Lana Lang employs in her ongoing quest to discover Superboy's secret identity. Lana assumes the identity of Flying Girl with the aid of a belt constructed by the Boy of Steel after she tricks him and gets his fingerprints. Superboy offers to grant Lana one wish if she promises to not try and use the fingerprints to learn his secret identity. Lana asks Superboy to make her fly, and he fashions a belt that allows Lana to siphon some of his power, which allows her to fly.

In the course of using the belt, Lana discovers that exposure to the belt for longer than a maximum of three hours will make the effect permanent. She tries to get Superboy to let her wear the belt for longer, but Superboy, realizing what Lana is up to, tricks Lana into taking off the belt before it can give her powers forever (SB No. 72/3, Apr 1959: "The Flying Girl of Smallville").
