Yango
The super-intelligent gorilla from Krypton who is the equal to Superboy.
Yango was reared from birth by the "noted anthropologist" Professor An-Kal, who subjected the baby gorilla to "years of intensive-conditional-cybernetic brain-programming" in an effort to prove his "revolutionary 'Genetic Alterance' theory." When Jor-El warned Krypton's Science Council of the planet's imminent destruction, An-Kal was among the few believers, sending Yango to Earth in a rocket to escape the blast at the same moment that Jor-El sends his own son, Kal-El, to Earth.
