Lydia Long
On the far-distant planet Oceania, in the large city of Macropolis, a close counterpart to Earth's Metropolis, girl reporter Lydia Long plays a role for Hyper-Man that parallels the one played by Lois Lane in the life of Superman (Act No. 265/1, Jun 1960: "The 'Superman' from Outer Space!").
A television reporter on the planet Oceania who bears a striking resemblance to Lois Lane and who is important in the life of Chester King, the man who is secretly Hyper-Man—something that closely parallels the role of Lois Lane in the life of Clark Kent, the man who is secretly Superman. Lydia Long marries King following his forced retirement from crime-fighting, and remains his wife until his death a year later from zoronite poisoning (Act No. 265/1, Jun 1960: “The ‘Superman’ from Outer Space!â€).
