The Martian Manhunter
A Green Martian by the name of J'onn J'onzz, accidentally teleported to Earth by the elderly Dr. Erdel (first appearance, Detective Comics No. 225, Nov 1955: "The Secret Experiment of Dr. Erdel"). J'onn possesses super strength and flying abilities as well as the powers of shape-shifting and invisibility. He has an apparent weakness to the flames of fire. Initially, J'onn adopts the secret identity of John Jones, police detective.
J'onn was a founding member of the Justice League of America and shares many missions with Superman.
