Alpha and Beta
Alien women who trap Stanhope College inside of a force barrier and threaten to destroy it if Supergirl attempts to intervene. The villains demand a student work on an exotic vaccine in the college science laboratory (Act No. 366/2, Aug 1968: "Stanhope, Off Limits!"). Supergirl uses Gold Kryptonite to remove her powers and avoid detection and slips into the college as Linda Danvers (Act No. 367/2, Sep 1968: "The Evil of Alpha and Beta!").
With the help of Superman, the Maid of Might is able to capture the evil pair who had planned to sell the medicine for enormous profits in a distant time to come. Fortunately, law officers from the future, warned by a time-traveling Superman, were able to covertly protect Supergirl from the effects of the kryptonite and she learns that her powers were not truly lost (Act No. 368/2, Oct 1968: "Supergirl's Stand to Save Stanhope!").
