"One of the most powerful industrialists in the nation," a viciously unscrupulous tycoon who masterminds a heinous scheme to cause a series of disastrous train wrecks on the Garth & Cowles Railroad so that he can buy a controlling interest in the line for a song when the price of the stock plummets. The scheme is thwarted by Superman, who apprehends Bigsby and his henchman, "Sparky" Waters, along with the gang of criminals hired by Waters to commit the actual acts of railroad sabotage (WF No. 3, Fall 1941: "The Case of the Death Express").
